Daniel Day Lewis should have won the Oscar for best actor in Gangs of New York! Yes, I know the movie was from like 5 years ago, but I was pissed when he didn’t win it. And since I just watched the DVD again, it just reminded me of how he got jerked! Not that Adrien Brody wasn’t good, but come on give it to the actor that really deserves it. Unfortunatley it seems the Oscar’s don’t go on actually acting ability anymore.

I loved Gangs of New York, Daniel Day Lewis did a fantastic job and was robbed and yes, unfortunately, it does seem that those who deserve to win the award the most are usually over looked. But then again the Oscars are run by a bunch of out of touch dinosaurs.

Word up. Some way to welcome Daniel Day Lewis to the movies. (as far as I know, Scorcese coaxed him out of semi-retirement to play Bill the Butcher). Lewis was the one bright light in a generally crappy movie.
