A while back someone submitted a Rant! about the employees that worked at Topdrawers on Denman street. It seems an employee of the store begs to differ with the Rant!
But alas the folks from Topdrawers left a response:
Being an employee of Topdrawers I’d like to say that you are probably a bitter person looking for attention, cause not only are we all friendly people but we have some of the most exclusive product in this side of the continent. We try to have a relaxed environment here in Topdrawers, making it a no pressure place to browse and ask questions if needed. I’ll i’d like to say is that we at Topdrawers are sad you had a bad experiance here in the store. In terms of us “being snotty little bitches that ignored you”… ever think that you might have come across in the same manner?
I dare ya to try us again, bet your experience will be a whole lot different!!
Having shopped at Topdrawers myself in the past I can say that I tend to take the side of the person who sent in the Rant! on this one. The few times that I have been there the staff came across as really not caring that I was shopping there. And as for having “some of the most exclusive product in this side of the continent”, I really don’t agree. C’mon guys you aren’t the only place in the city that sells Diesel and Ginch Gonch.

I agree with the customer complaining. The people at Topdrawers are horrible at customer service, they are very snobby and think they are above anyone. One thing is sure, I’ll never, ever, shop there again.

Topdrawers here again, this time from the manager. I was not aware of the complaint nor the response from an employee until just now.
First, we take these comments very seriously, and sincerely regret and apologise to anyone who has felt ignored, or that employees here are “snotty”. We want to fix this immediately, and will be having a staff meeting about this very topic. I absolutely agree that being ignored is an awful feeling when shopping in a store, and we are sometimes guilty of this being busy with someone or something else, but we truly do not in any way feel “above” anyone.
TopDrawers has long an unofficial policy of being a casual “soft-sell”, non-commission environment reflective of the product mix and the neighbourhood, that is intended to provide a comfortable environment: it appears we have become too lax and it has backfired and appears that we don’t care. It is a fine balance that we will try hard from here on to regain.
Thank you for pointing this out, in all sincerity.

I had the dis-pleasure of speaking to the owner/manager of Top Drawers a few years ago when I worked for a courier company and he was one of the rudest customer I have ever had to speak to. He swore at me, threatened to make my job miserable and treated this customer service rep poorly.
I love the product but cannot stand to go in a store that is run by someone that treats others so poorly.
Boo on them!

well, I won’t shop there after reading this. I am so sick of snobs that fill Vancouver.
I know they type.
