The Vancouver Art Gallery Should Stay Downtown
Thursday, April 12th, 2007I just read that the Vancouver Art Gallery has run out of space. A top site considered? False Creek! What is with Vancouver? First they want to move St. Paul’s out the downtown core and now the art gallery? What major city does not have a hospital or main art gallery in its downtown core?
What do they want the downtown peninsula to be - a park for Christ’s sake? It’s an embarrassment that more and more key structures and amenities are being considered for a move out. Does NY have all of its main galleries in Queen’s or London move the the Tate to the suburbs.
I know space is limited downtown but does every square km need to be a condo or Starbucks? What a joke.
